In my Tiny Closet: Mummy's Closet!

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Hey Lovelies!

Hope you had a great weekend.
Today in my tiny closet is a skirt from Mummy's closet. SHHHH!

I love it!! Its a brown skirt with pockets.

I paired it with this bralet I made. It was so easy, its ridiculous. All you need is piece of cloth for the front and elastic bands for the back.

And once again I'm wearing my interchangeable denim jacket and my fedora with some silver hoop earrings and brown flats.

Now you know I wouldn't be me if I didn't take a million and one photos and got my model on...HEY!!
Mix it up. Kayenar Style.
 Until Next time

Kayenar Designs:All Denim Everythang!

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Hey Lovelies!

Today's outfit is all denim patch clothing, original Kayenar Designs.

You guys have seen the denim patch skirt from a previous post, but I paired it with a denim peplum top with a cut in the back. A nice addition to the collection.

Well since this is summer an all denim ensemble probably wouldn't be very comfortable especially during the day but it may work for the nightime.
I know, I know I am always in this fedora but I was being lazy with my hair, so if you see it in more posts (which you will) I'm being lazy or I just like how it looks with the outfit...or both. Haha.

Anyhus,
I mixed up my denim pieces and I added a bandeau top with an interchangeable racerback jacket to the denim skirt. A gold sequinned belt, some vintage earrings (compliments mummy's jewellery box) and....

Kayenar Fabulousness!

Accesories
Now to get a little more creative with my picture taking and model skills.

HEY YALL!! I BE WERKING IT!!

Hope you like it! Until next time lovelies...

In My Tiny Closet: Kayenar Designs Yellow Bow Tie

Monday, August 12, 2013

Hey Lovelies,

Watch me get my model on guys!Heeeeyy!

In my tiny closet there are several pieces that I have made to add to my Kayenar Designs Collection. Take a look!
Here I am wearing mostly Kayenar Designs!

1.Yellow bow tie

I was just messing around with some pieces of yellow cloth. And I thought the colour was so pretty that i wanted a bow tie (random, I know). But I started putting pieces together, and this is what I came up with. I wanted it a bit fluffier to get the big bow effect (if ya get me). So I have plans to revamp it.

2. high waisted denim patch skirt

I had alot of denim pants and skirts that I know i wouldn't be able to get into anytime soon. I really liked the different textures and shades so I cut them in different sizes and patched it all together.
And

3.Floral button-up top

Now after making a dress with this pretty floral print I decided to make a button-up by imitating another shirt shirt I had. I thought it would look cool to colour block with a pink collar. No measurements, just pins and estimations. (I'm trying to up my measuring game guys lol) . Looks pretty good for a first try though. *pats self on back*

I paired this outfit with a purple belt and flats along with vintage pearl earrings I 'stole' from my mum's jewellry box.
SHHHHH!
And I threw in some nerd glasses cause I felt like.

Until next time
xoxo Kei!

DIY: How to turn vintage buttons into chic earrings

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Bonjour!

Another DIY for you guys to do. Easy, easy, easy, simple, simple, simple! How to turn vintage buttons into stylish earrings.

Things you will need

  1. 2 earring backs
  2. 2 vintage buttons
  3. hot glue gun/strong glue of your choice (I used uhu glue)
  4. ears!

STEP 1: Remove the earring backs so that it is easier to manoeuvre with the button

STEP 2: Place one drop of glue on the flat side of the earring back

STEP 3: Then place each earring back onto the back of the button ( I placed mine in the middle of my buttons).

STEP 4: Allow time to dry.

STEP 5: Wear your new earrings!

I love it! Hope you love it too.

DIY: From Tshirt to colourful Maxi Dress

Saturday, July 27, 2013

Hey guys,

I'm here to show you guys another DIY I did a while ago. Now I made this before I made this blog so I would not be able to explain it step by step (i have no more shirts to cut) but I think its pretty straight forward so you guys should be able to understand with the instructions I provide.

So let's get started. For illustration sake i will use a very old plain white T to explain.

Things you'll need:

  1. 3 plain old t shirts (can be of different colours)
  2. 1 vest (preferably the colour of one of the tshirts)
  3. scissors
  4. needle and thread/ sewing machine

STEP 1: Take each t shirt and cut straight across, under the sleeves.

STEP 2: Then take the bottom piece that you just cut off and cut them into 3 equal length pieces.

STEP 3: Arrange the strips so that they form a pattern, or you can arrange them however you want.

STEP 4: Sew each strip to each other.

STEP 5: Take the vest and cut it as a crop top

STEP 6: Sew the sewn strips onto the vest that you have just cut OR you can even leave the strips as a maxi skirt and place an elastic band around the top.

But here is the finished product!
A brand new colourful maxi dress!

Hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial!
Until next time

In My Tiny Closet:Print Pants

Friday, July 26, 2013

I found these print pants at a flea market a while back for only $5!! I was a bit hesitant in buying them because I wasn't sure if they would fit right, but I could NOT pass up this deal so I bought them. I am so glad that I did because they fit great, a bit tight in some areas but nothing a little diet and exercise can't fix.

Now the hard part was finding something to pair it with because it didn't look so right with some of the stuff I had in my closet.

So here I paired these fabulous pants with a denim top I made and a plain white blazer.
I thought wedges would make it look more chic. I'm wearing some Bertini wedges and some simple jewellery along with a denim clutch I made.

Hope you like it!
