Its been a while since I posted, and it seems like time is just flying by, its a bit scary :s

Well today I want to share my latest project and I hope you guys aren't getting tired of my patchwork.

But I love it!

Today i'm gonna show you my latest patchwork top with a full peplum and a sweetheart neckline.

 

Can you guess what I used as my boning!?..

Some old wires for an adapter I was no longer using!! That's right, I reuse and recycle! And you would have never known. Lol

I was trying to be all dramatic and modelesque posing on these ancient chairs.i like them though they add some grunge to the pic. But I had hell getting in and out of that chair. Haha!

Hey lovelies,

I know that today's post title is a mouthful lol but I want to share my latest project and what I have been up to and learning so far.

For this project I have been learning various things like dart placements, bodice lengths, constructing facings for the bodice, applying seam allowances and the list goes on. But overall I think I'm getting much better at measurements although the Lutterloh system would make life so much easier (see previous post for explanation).

As you guys know, I adore patchwork but this time around instead of using denim I used different fabrics from old projects that I didn't fancy anymore. And even though patchwork is time-consuming I generally love the end result. And this is all good practice for the more expensive fabrics anyways.

Hope you had a great weekend :)

Today I would like to share with you my first attemp at shorts using the famous German Lutterloh System.

I have attempted to make shorts before but the results were not nearly as good or easy as this system.

I recently attended a free pattern making class where the instructor showed us the easy way to make custom made patterns with only TWO! Yes TWO!! Measurements.

With the lesson the instructor gave us three free patterns( a blouse, a blazer and the shorts) I thought that that was so amazingly fascinating I had to try it for myself and this was the result.

You should note that since this was a first attempt that I used some left over fabric for the back of the shorts. And I opted to fold the bottom a little because I preferred it shorter than the pattern.

Now given that it is my first time using this system I made some mistakes. But I learn by doing and ive made notes on where I went wrong and how I can make it better.

But I am definitely interested in purchasing this system. Even though it is a little pricey I would definitely invest in this system when I can afford it.

Happy Friday Lovelies!

So I've been doing some of cleaning especially in the clothing department, and I found several shirts that I didn't really like anymore (as shirts). So being the thrifty person that I am I turned them into skirts.

And I went a little skirt crazy.

Now they may not be party or special event worthy. But I figured that they would be cute enough to go shopping in, or over to a friends or just to wear at home. Whatever the case, I have new skirts!

I wanted to show you guys how I would dress them up.

Shirt #1

This skirt has a little gold accent that I love, so I decided to add my old/vintage belt (I've had it for eons and decided to resurrect it), some gold earrings and of course denim.

If you didn't notice, I added the sleeves to the bottom and since they weren't wide enough I made a horizontal slit on both sides.

Shirt #3

Here I chose three different casual looks for the one skirt.

The skirt below was previously a dress that I altered, so I thought I would still share. It was a cute print.

Hey lovelies,

Today's post shows my one of my latest Kayenar projects, its nothing major but I thought I'd share :).

It is my green asymmetrical jersey skirt!

I got this fabric as a birthday gift (I know I have the best friends ^_^).Now this was not the intended shape or look I was goin for at all.
It turns out that I cut the fabric dead wrong, so I did the simplest thing I could think of. I just brought part of the skirt to 1 side.

This ensemble made me feel like a woman and it made me feel very sexy even though I seemed to underestimate how voluptuous I really was. It honestly really made me feel good and like I could do anything :).

Anyways, take a look...

P.S Excuse my fabulous legs and booty ;)

I paired my kayenar skirt with a blouse I found at a flea market. The first time I saw it, the colours and the pattern called to me. And here it made the whole outfit very festive.

Hello lovelies,

Hope you're having a great day. Today I would like to talk about a lipstick I bought recently.

Now in the packaging the colour looked completely different and unfortunately there were no testers avaliable in the store. So I bought it hoping that it was the colour I was imagining it would be in my head.

Lo and behold it wasnt.

But! I tried it and I love it. It was the perfect nudeish lippie for my lips and as the packaging said, it was really moisturising and it made my lips feel soft. So now it is my favourite because you can hardly tell that I'm wearing it.

Check it out, it is the L.A. Colours Vitamin E & Aloe Vera Lipstick

As you can see there is a reddish tint to my lips, so this lippie would be perfect for the office or for those girls who don't favour the brighter colours.
